I’m sure you are familiar with the Mission Impossible series. It started as a TV series in 1966 and has been rebooted into a movie series starring Tom Cruise. MI:7 is in the works. I must admit that I do love the suspense of these movies.
They usually start with a very tense seen. One I remember is the opening scene panning in on Cruise rock climbing. There is a tense moment when he slips and is hanging by one hand. He somehow manages to swing backwards and get a grip with his other hand and miraculously get to the top of the peak. At that moment a helicopter sweeps in and fires a canister into the rock with his next mission.
While these missions are movie fantasy, God’s mission is real. God’s mission is “NOT Mission Impossible.” Imagine what Mary and Joseph had to endure to get to Bethlehem to deliver the savior of the world. It is a 90 mile trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem and it is rough terrain. But they are determined to follow through with the mission God has given them. Do you know that God’s mission for you is that you know you are loved and forgiven? Listen on YouTube and Spotify about how God wants to make that happen.
